Welcome to the Medical Centre Roscommon. The practice has been in operation for over 60 years and operating from the medical centre for 31 years.  We are team of 4 Doctors, 2 Nurses, Phlebotomist, 4 Administrative Staff and a Practice Manager. The Medical Centre is located in Roscommon town, and we look forward to providing you with a service to suit your medical requirements.

Our mission is to provide excellent medical care, and we are dedicated to providing a high standard of care by assuring that each patient receives individual, personalised attention.  We aim to accomplish this through the relationships we have established with our staff, patients, and their families.  Compassion, kindness, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence are principal core values within our practice. Our aim is to work within our community, to improve the health and wellness of our patients and their families.

Confidentiality, trust, dignity, respect and integrity are paramount, and we are fully compliant with professional standards.

We aim to continuously improve the delivery of our services by upskilling of staff, investing in technology to assist us, and listening to the needs of our patients. The Medical Centre is an affiliated teaching practice with the RCSI.

Dr John Keenan has 40 years experience in general practice. His special interests include the areas of medicine of older age, minor surgery, diabetes and LGBT health.

MBChB,MICGP, DRCOG,Dip MSK(ICGP/FSEM), PG Cert (Clinical Education), BSc(Hons) Anatomy.

Tom joined the practice as a partner in 2020. He graduated from University of Birmingham and completed the Herefordshire Vocational Training Scheme in General Practice. 

He is a GP Trainer on the Sligo Training Scheme and a RCSI undergraduate tutor.

Mb BCh BAO, MICGP,IBCLC,PGCert HPE

Aoife graduated from Medical School in UCD before returning to the West of Ireland to complete her higher specialist training in General Practice. She is delighted to be back in her native Roscommon!

She has a special interest in women's health and breastfeeding and is also a qualified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She also has a special interest in child health and has amassed an unrivalled collection of stickers, which she hands out at any opportunity.
